Fencing :
Fencing is useful for dividing and securing property lines. It can be decorative or purely functional whether it is constructed from metal or treated timber.
As long as some simple construction rules are carried out then the fencing will last many years with very little maintenance.
Wind can very quickly knock down a fence that has not had its supporting posts buried far enough into the ground. Any style of fence upto 6ft high should have at least 2ft of the post buried in the ground in concrete with a sloping haunch around the top to ensure any water runs away from the timber post.
There are many types of fences including:- Closeboard wooden panel, interwoven fence panel, Waney lap fence panel, party fence (double sided), Stock fences, paling fences, and featheredge fences.
Most timber fences and fence posts come pressure treated with Tanalith E to protect it against insect attack and fungul decay other forms of treatment are used but may not be as effective.
Some of the cheaper fence panels especially the waney lap fence panels will require retreatment every so often, especially those that are thiner and more prone to cracking when they dry out.
Concrete or wooden gravel boards can be installed between the ground and the bottom of the fence panel to help protect the bottom of the panel from rotting they also frame the fence panel.

Paving & Patios:

We construct patios taking into account the lay of the land with regards to drainage and type of base required for the particular type of stone to be laid. We can repair old and worn out stone patios by relaying or replacing broken or wonky stones and grinding out and replacing old pointing with a new stronger mix.
